A person released to parole or another community placement may remain under DOC authority without being confined. Someone moved to ICE, federal custody, or another jurisdiction has transferred, not necessarily returned to the community.
For a short court hold, the docket may be the best record of what happened. For a sentenced state term, CT DOC and parole records carry more weight. For federal custody, use the Bureau of Prisons. For immigration detention, use ICE. This separation prevents a live roster, a missing search result, or a court date from being mistaken for final proof of release.
