Corrigan Release History

Corrigan’s institutional history explains why older records can use a different name. CT DOC reports that Corrigan Correctional Institution and Radgowski Correctional Institution were consolidated in May 2001 as Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center. The Radgowski facility later closed on October 6, 2021, following a reduction in the incarcerated population. Current material uses Corrigan Correctional Center, while an older docket, transfer record, or family note may still say Corrigan-Radgowski or Radgowski.

Corrigan Community Release Records

Leaving the secure institution can lead to parole, special parole, transitional supervision, a residential placement, another community-release setting, or full sentence discharge. These outcomes are not interchangeable. Parole is a conditional release linked to a prison sentence and Board action. Special parole is ordered by the court to follow incarceration. Transitional supervision and other community placements remain DOC processes. A person in one of these statuses can be out of Corrigan yet still under state control.
